How to remove gel polish at home

What you’ll need

The easiest way is to buy some Bio Sculpture/ Evo removal sachets (use my code THENAILCLUB for 10% off)

Then all you’ll need is to lightly buff the surface of the gel to remove the shine, then open up the sachet and wrap the sachet round your finger.

OR…..

  1. Acetone (pure acetone is best but nail varnish remover with acetone in will work but may take longer).

  2. Cotton Pads, cut into quarters

  3. Tin foil

  4. A nail file and buffer

  5. An orange wood stick or cuticle pusher

  6. Cuticle oil

How to do it…

  1. Buff your nail with the nail file to break through the seal of the top coat to the colour underneath.

  2. Soak the cotton pad pieces in acetone and place on the nail. (if you have the sachets, the cotton, acetone and foil are all part of the sachet).

  3. Wrap nail in tin foil. Try to get a tight wrap to prevent the acetone evaporating too quickly.

  4. Wait 10 mins while keeping nails warm (cold nails take longer).

  5. Remove wraps and gently remove the flaking gel with the orange stick or cuticle pusher

  6. If there is any stubborn gel, repeat steps 1-5

  7. if you have a soft buffer, you can buff the nail to smooth it

  8. Finish with cuticle oil to protect your skin and nails

Top tip 1:

Its easier to do 1 hand at a time, and make sure you only remove the tinfoil or sachet 1 finger at a time as the gel can re-adhesive itself if air gets to it.

Top tip 2:

Keep oiling your nails twice a day if you can, but most importantly make it the last thing you do at night and moisturise!  All this hand washing is harsh on the skin.  Please look after your hands, they do so much for others! If you don’t have any cuticle oil, why not check out the oil or balm in my SHOP.
